Multi-objective Structural Topology Optimization for Spot-welded Layout

Abstract:

To solve the two-step process optimization problem, a method for synthesizing multi-objective structural topology optimization based on spot-welded layout was presented.Given an extended design domain with boundary and loading condition, the topology and geometry of an entire structure and the location and configuration of joints was optimized. A mult-objective genetic algorithm coupled with FEM analyses was used to obtain Pareto optimal solutions, the decision could be made for different demands. 
